I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance Vehicle use, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Lisburn City NPT have been focusing on road safety over the past week and addressing concerns raised by the community. As a result of weekend patrols we seized several escooter's throughout the Lisburn area, and made one arrest for driving a escooter whilst under the influence of alcohol. This person was charged for this and several other driving offences, alongside possession of Class C drugs. We are aware that escooter's are a big concern in our communities and we will continue to focus on enforcing the law around these. The use of motorised vehicles such as scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos as a leisure activity can be both exciting and fun, however, as with most outdoor activities the use of these vehicles can in some circumstances be dangerous. E-scooters and the Law E-scooters, scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos do not generally comply with construction and use legislation and vehicle standards so are therefore, restricted to off-road use only.
