Commissioner and Chief ready to answer questions in latest ‘Chat with the Chiefs’

Residents across Northamptonshire are once again being given the chance to submit their questions on crime and policing to Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone and Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet as they take part in the latest ‘Chat with the Chiefs.’

This is the third time that Danielle and Ivan have hosted an online public meeting. The last meeting in March saw over one hundred questions submitted with topics covering the rollout of live facial recognition, the use of e-scooters and anti-social behaviour.

This month’s meeting will give Danielle and Ivan the opportunity to update viewers on the actions that were taken from the last livestream, as well as answering new questions from the public.

Questions about any policing or community safety issue are welcomed – potentially covering subjects such as neighbourhood policing, safety in town centres, funding or road safety. Please do not send in any questions about live or on-going cases, as these will not be answered.

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone said: “I have been really impressed with the level of engagement we had in the previous livestreams so I am eager to see what concerns the public will raise this time.

“In addition to answering questions from the public, we will also provide feedback on the actions that Ivan and I took away from the previous meeting so people can see that we are listening and acting on what concerns people have.

“The meeting also plays a key part in my role of holding the Chief Constable to account for delivering the best possible service to the people of Northamptonshire.”

Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet said: “These livestreams provide a valuable opportunity for us to hear directly from the people we serve and answer questions about the issues that matter most to them.

“We know that residents are passionate about keeping their communities safe, and we welcome the chance to talk openly about the work we are doing across Northamptonshire to tackle crime, protect vulnerable people and improve public confidence in policing.

“I would encourage anyone with a question about policing in Northamptonshire to get involved, either by submitting a question in advance or joining us live on the evening. We may not always have all the answers, but we are committed to listening, being transparent and explaining the decisions we make.”
