Vehicle seized and man charged with drink driving at Hardwick

Vehicle anti-social behaviour is something that is regularly reported to us by the local community and we know that it has a big impact on you. 

On Friday night we were called to the Hardwick Retail Park to reports of some ‘boy racers’ causing problems. A bit of joined-up work between our response officers and traffic team led to us stopping a car that had been spotted doing handbrake turns and drifting in the car park.

We have relatively new powers to deal with anti-social driving and in certain cases can seize a car immediately. This is what happened here and the BMW was soon impounded. 

The driver was also breathalysed and subsequently arrested for being over the drink drive limit. He has since been charged to court later this month.
