Dear Resident, Here is our weekly update from the Northfield Neighbourhood team. Our Priorities - Retail Crime & High Street Safety: Addressing shoplifting and antisocial behaviour on Northfield High Street through partnership with the Northfield Business Improvement District (BID)
- Targeting Drug Offences: Increasing patrols to address reports of drug use and dealing, with Operation Wayfarer focusing on disrupting these issues.
- Begging and Street Population: Addressing issues around street begging, drug use and anti social behaviour in public spaces.
- Crime Prevention & Youth Intervention: Focussing on reducing shop theft, providing early intervention and tackling organised crime in the Birmingham area
What’s been happening? - Police present was required due to the shooting incident on Middle Field Road (Extra Patrols have been conducted due to this)
- Multiple visits to Northfield High-street have been conducted. Officers have been gathering intelligence on shoplifters and other offenders in the area.
Good News - We have patrolled with our Staple Lodge Road Street-watch group.
- We are currently working with the Business Improvemnet District to tackle issues in Northfield Highstreet
