Man charged with vehicle interference in Stevenage

A man has been charged with five counts of vehicle interference in Stevenage.

Police were called just before 7am on Thursday (3 September) to report a person trying car door handles in Grenville Way, Marymead Drive, Nodes Drive, and Broad Oak Way.

Officers attended the area where they stopped and searched a man who was then arrested.

Kyle Brownbill, aged 33, of Summerfield Road, Luton was charged with possession of a knife/bladed article (utility knife), five counts of vehicle interference, theft from a vehicle and a public order offence (threatening/abusive behaviour).

He is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 25 November.

Response Sergeant Ricky Carter said: "We are committed to tackling incidents of vehicle crime in Stevenage which I hope our quick response in this case reflects, and I am pleased a suspect was identified and arrested within an hour of the first report, leading to successful charges.
