Here’s the latest update on bike theft in your area. On 05/09/2026 a EskutaSX - 250 E - bike was stolen from Winchester road EN1.
Help protect your bike by following these simple crime prevention measures:
✅ Always lock your bike, even if you're only leaving it for a few minutes.
✅ Use a good-quality D-lock or Sold Secure approved lock and secure both the frame and wheels where possible.
✅ Lock your bike to a solid, immovable object in a well-lit, busy location.
✅ Remove accessories such as lights, cycle computers, and bags when leaving your bike unattended.
✅ Register your bike free of charge on a property database such as BikeRegister and record the frame number, make, model, and photographs.
✅ Consider marking your bike with a security marking kit or forensic marking solution.
✅ Store bikes securely at home, ideally in a locked shed or garage secured with quality locks and alarms.
✅ If storing a bike in a communal area, ensure it is secured with a lock even when inside the building.

Please remind young people to secure their bikes properly when travelling to school, parks, sports facilities, and transport hubs. Taking a few extra moments to lock a bike correctly can significantly reduce the risk of theft.

The most important thing to remember is to double lock your bike and register the frame number.
