A busy weekend of community engagement across Mitcham! 🚓🤝🚒

This weekend, local policing teams were pleased to support two fantastic community events across Merton. At Phipps Bridge, officers joined colleagues from the London Fire Brigade for a community engagement day, giving residents the opportunity to meet emergency service personnel, learn more about fire safety, and even get hands-on experience with firefighting equipment. Events like these help strengthen relationships with the community while showcasing the close partnership working between emergency services.

We also attended the Merton’s big sports day, in partnership with Better, where officers enjoyed meeting residents, supporting participants, and celebrating the positive impact that sport has in bringing communities together. It was great to see individuals and families of all ages taking part, demonstrating the strong community spirit that exists across the borough. A particular highlight was seeing two of our officers join local children in a one-mile run, demonstrating the positive spirit of the event and encouraging young people to get active. 

We would like to thank everyone who attended both events and helped make them such a success. We look forward to continuing to engage with our communities and working together to keep Merton a safe and welcoming place for all.
