Introduction

First of all Good evening, I am Dan Kenny, Sergeant within the Lisburn City Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers 12 wards across Lisburn North & South.  Alongside the officers in my team, I am committed to listening to and working with our communities to understand local concerns and provide a responsive policing service.  I believe PSNI Connect has further enhanced the opportunity to do this.

This weekend our team has proactively targeted the ILLEGAL and unsafe use of e-scooters, resulting in a total of 4 being seized.  these e-scooters may be disposed of in accordance with the relevant legislation and correct policing procedures.  Many others were stopped, spoken to, returned home and given strong words of advice.  Unfortunately there were several others who got away who appear keen ‘for a chase’.  

If you or anyone in your household own an e-scooter please know the legislation before you consider using it!

We will continue to address this issue, in addition to other community issues while using PSNI Connect to share relevant updates, engage with residents and partners and respond to the matters affecting our area.
