Southall SNT Tackles Illegal E-Scooter Use Through Op OverVolt

Despite the challenging weather conditions on Wednesday 2nd September, officers from Southall Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were out today conducting Operation OverVolt, an initiative aimed at addressing the unsafe and anti-social use of e-scooters across the wards.

Launched in response to increasing concerns regarding the illegal and anti-social use of e-scooters, the operation focused on enforcement, engagement, and road safety education.

In just two hours of patrols across Southall, officers seized five e-scooters and stopped five riders. Those stopped were provided with advice and education regarding the legislation surrounding e-scooter use and were dealt with for offences including riding on the pavement and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

The results demonstrate Southall SNT's ongoing commitment to tackling issues that affect the quality of life of local residents, improving road safety, and addressing anti-social behaviour within the community.
