Here’s an update on burglary locally. We've recently seen a number of shed burglaries reported within Wallington North Ward, which shares borders with Carshalton Central and Beddington. Offenders have been targeting ebikes, bicycles and other valuable items stored in gardens, sheds and outbuildings.
Please take a few moments to review your security and consider the following crime prevention measures:
✅ Ensure sheds, garages and side gates are secured with good-quality locks.
✅ Secure bicycles, power tools and other valuable items with chains, anchors or additional locking devices where possible.
✅ Consider installing security lighting, CCTV, video doorbells or shed alarms.
✅ Keep gates, fences and boundary lines in good repair and ensure rear gardens are not easily accessible.
✅ Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, particularly persons entering rear gardens or acting suspiciously around residential properties.
If you have any information relating to burglary offences or suspicious behaviour, please report it via 101 or online at www.met.police.uk. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
Working together, we can help prevent crime and keep our neighbourhoods safe.
