Everyone deserves to feel safe where they live, work and spend their free time.
Antisocial behaviour (ASB) can have a real impact on people’s lives - making you feel unsafe, anxious or unable to enjoy your neighbourhood.
We are aware of ongoing concerns around ASB in Kings Heath and are continuing to work with community groups and the local authority to take action against known offenders. As part of our response to these issues, two teenagers have been charged and are appearing in court in due course while a third remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
Throughout this summer we have held regular community meetings and engagement, as well as high-visibility patrols and targeted operations to respond to the concerns of the public.
Inspector Hayley Thompson, who oversees policing in Kings Heath, said: “Quite often ASB is perceived as being a low-level crime, but we certainly don't see it that way. We take it incredibly seriously as we know it can have a real, long-lasting impact.
“We want everyone to enjoy living or visiting Kings Heath and not be intimidated. Making our communities safer is a priority for us and we'll continue to work with partners to achieve this.”
