Update on Serious Assault investigation from July 2025

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Violent Crime, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

A man has received a custodial sentence following a serious assault in the Lisburn area during the early hours of 12 July 2025.

The victim, a woman, sustained a serious head injury as a result of the assault. She continues to experience lasting effects from those injuries.

Following sentencing at court on 2nd September 2026, the defendant has now received a custodial sentence.

Police remain committed to pursuing those responsible for violent crime and will continue to support victims throughout the investigation and criminal justice process.
