Notting Hill Carnival

Good Evening, Holland Residents!

Hope you are all well! I just wanted to pop on here and give you all a update and fill you all in on what happened during notting hill carnival

There was plenty of colour, culture, music, dancing, and of course lots of fun!

636- Arrests were made in total -242 on sunday and 394 on Monday.

193 Arrests happened on the approaches to the Carnival, with the rest taking place within the event area.

The offences included drug possession, and supply, assaults, weapon offences, sexual offences and public-order offences.

Live Facial Recognition was used more extensively this year, resulting in 214 alerts, 121 arrests and 86 registered sex offenders spoken to.

Stop and Search was also used as part of proactive policing leading to 68 weapons being found, Including a handgun.

Overall, while carnival was full of music, culture and celebration and we hope everyone felt safe!
