Working Together to Keep Our Community Safe

Dear Resident,

We would like to provide an update on some positive work recently undertaken by your local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

What we did

While conducting patrols in the rural area following an increase in reports of poaching and hare coursing, PC Hockless identified a Citroën Berlingo van that was being driven without valid insurance.

PC Hockless signalled for the vehicle to stop; however, the driver failed to comply. Following a short pursuit, enquiries established that the driver was disqualified from driving and that the vehicle had no insurance or valid road tax.

As a result of the road traffic offences, the driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which he failed. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of:

Outcome

The vehicle was seized at the roadside, and the driver has since been charged with the offences. He is due to appear at court on a future date.
