Following recent overnight incidents involving vehicles in the Earlsdon area, we are asking residents to take a few simple precautions to help protect their cars and belongings. The local Police Teams will be doing patrols in the area. 🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it for only a short time. Check the doors are actually locked before walking away.👀 Remove valuables from sight — including wallets, bags, cash, phones and other items. Even small amounts of cash can attract an opportunist thief.🔑 Keep car keys away from doors and windows when at home.📡 If you have keyless entry, keep your keys and spare key in a signal-blocking/Faraday pouch.🛞 Consider a steering-wheel lock or other physical security device as an additional deterrent.🚪 Remember that thieves may use electronic equipment to interfere with remote locking, so physically check your vehicle has locked.📞 Be vigilant and report suspicious activity. If a crime is taking place or there is an immediate danger, call 999.Be vigilant and report suspicious activity, if a crime is taking place or immediate danger, call 999 Further information is available from West Midlands Police - Preventing car and vehicle theft | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police and Prevent theft from a vehicle | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police
