Residential Burglary – There has been one report of attempted residential burglary between 24 August 2026 and 01 September 2026.

On 27/08/2026, an attempt to residential burglary was reported on Wheatfield Close. 

Theft of motor vehicle – There has been one report of Theft of motor vehicle between 24 August 2026 and 01 September 2026.

On 30/08/2026, a motor vehicle was stolen from Laburnum Avenue. 

Theft from a motor vehicle – There have been two reports of Theft from a motor vehicle between 24 August 2026 and 01 September 2026.

On 26/08/2026, a theft from motor vehicle was committed on Sanda Croft.

On 29/08/2026, a theft from motor vehicle was committed on Alvis Walk. 

Interference with a motor vehicle – There have been no report of Interference with a motor vehicle between 24 August 2026 and 01 September 2026.

Officers from the Smiths wood neighbourhood team are continuing to conduct proactive patrols and take preventative measures to tackle vehicle crime, across all Smiths wood, Kingshurst and Castle Bromwich. 

Simple Steps to Keep Your Vehicle Safe – 

Keyless ignition owners should use a Faraday pouch for their fob. All drivers should consider a steering lock, park in well – lit visible areas, lock their vehicle, remove valuables and ensure windows, sunroof, and wing mirrors are closed/ folded. Unfolded mirrors may signal an unlocked car to thieves.

What has been happening? Good news –

It’s been a quieter week due to the weather changing which I’m sure we all agree was needed for our gardens.

This week we have been catching up on our crime investigations workloads for the area, training and patrolling around all our three neighbourhood areas.

We’d like to thank everyone who reports concerns, looks out for neighbours and works with local police and community partners. Your involvement makes a real difference.

I would also like to thank our Street Watch and Speed Watch volunteers for their hard work.

Now we are coming to the end of the summer and the children returning to school. Please be considerate and park legally and safely around the local area.
