Theft from a Motor Vehicle - Ninian Road, Hemel Hempstead.

Dear Resident

Between 10/06/2026 12:00 to 30/08/2026 11:00 a theft from a vehicle occurred in Ninian Road, Hemel Hempstead.

Between material times, the victim has left the vehicle locked and secure with no damage. Offender(s) have approached the victim's vehicle and used an unknown item to remove the front and rear number plates from the vehicle. The offender(s) have also caused additional damage to the underneath and side door of the vehicle. Offender(s) have then left in an unknown direction.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
