Potters Bar man charged with multiple offences

A man from Potters Bar will appear at court this month (September) charged with multiple offences in the area.

Mohammed Asif, aged 36, of Ashwood Road in Potters Bar, was arrested at his home address on Friday 14 August.

The arrest was carried out following an investigation by the Potters Bar and Shenley Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Asif will appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 25 September, charged with the following offences:

Theft - stealing a phone from a coat pocket in Tesco, Mutton Lane on 27 June

Shoplifting - stealing two vapes from Esso in Barnet Road on 6 July

Two counts of fraud - using another's person's bank card to purchase items from Esso in Barnet Road on 6 July

Possession of cannabis – during the arrest at his home address on 14 August

PC Charlie Palmer, from the Potters Bar and Shenley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “These charges have been secured following an investigation by local officers into retail crime-related offences in Potters Bar. We hope this news reassures locals, especially the business community, that we take these reports seriously.”
