Wembley Hill Update!

Whilst on routine patrols, PCSO Baker and PCSO Alem located a moped that looked out of place. Checks confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen four days earlier from the Wembley Central area. The registered keeper was contacted and attended the location approximately 30 minutes later. The moped was subsequently returned to its rightful owner. The owner expressed his gratitude to officers and stated that he did not expect to see his moped again. He was extremely pleased with the police response and the successful recovery of his stolen vehicle.

Officers from the Wembley Hill Community Policing Team attended Alexandra Court, Wembley, whilst carrying out routine patrols. Officers' attention was drawn to two males sitting on a bench within the communal garden. Upon approaching the males, both appeared nervous and acted in a suspicious manner. Officers also observed drug paraphernalia openly on display. As a result, grounds were established for searches to be conducted. During the searches, both males were found to be in possession of cannabis. As this was the first occasion that either individual had been found in possession of cannabis, the offences were dealt with by way of Community Resolutions. The location has been subject to ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour and drug use within communal areas, which adversely impacts residents and the wider community. Due to the circumstances and the impact on residents, Anti-Social Behaviour Warning Notices were issued to both individuals. The warnings were explained to them, and words of advice were provided regarding their conduct and the consequences of any future anti-social behaviour. Both males engaged with officers, understood the action taken, and left the area without incident.

Whilst on routine patrols, officers observed a delivery moped being ridden on a public footway, placing pedestrians at risk and causing concern to members of the public. Officers stopped the vehicle and carried out checks on the rider and moped. Enquiries revealed that the rider was not riding in accordance with a driving licence. As a result, the rider was reported for the relevant traffic offences. Due to the offences identified, the moped was seized and recovered to the designated vehicle pound in accordance with police powers. The rider was informed of the reasons for the seizure and the reporting process.

Whilst on routine patrols, officers observed a moped proceed through a red traffic signal, placing pedestrians and other road users at risk. The vehicle was stopped, and the rider was spoken to regarding their manner of driving. The rider was subsequently reported for contravening a red traffic signal. The rider was given strong words of advice regarding road safety and the dangers associated with failing to comply with traffic signals. The potential consequences of such actions, including the risk of serious injury to pedestrians and other road users, were explained.
