Disqualified Driver

During patrol this weekend, a Land Rover attracted my attention as it was travelling within our rural area despite being from outside the area. Given the circumstances, I decided to stop the vehicle and speak with the driver.

The driver appeared hesitant when asked to provide their details, which raised further suspicion. Subsequent checks revealed that the driver was currently disqualified from driving and therefore had no entitlement to be behind the wheel.

The driver has since been interviewed and reported for the offence and will now be dealt with through the court process. Any sentence or financial penalty will be a matter for the court to determine. Should the driver continue to offend by driving whilst disqualified, they risk facing increasingly serious consequences, potentially including a custodial sentence.
