Nuisance and Noisy Vehicle Stop

For several weeks, a dark VW Golf has been the subject of numerous complaints from residents regarding its manner of driving and an excessively noisy exhaust which has been disturbing our rural communities.

Last night, I located and stopped the vehicle in question and, frankly, it did not disappoint. The exhaust was ridiculously loud, repeatedly backfiring and creating unnecessary noise which could be heard from a considerable distance.

As a result of the driver's anti-social use of the vehicle, a Section 59 warning was issued. In addition, the driver was reported for a traffic offence after being observed jumping a red traffic light.

Let this serve as a warning: any further anti-social use of this vehicle, or any vehicle subject to a Section 59 warning, is likely to result in us very happily seizing it. We will continue to act on information provided by our communities and target those whose driving causes nuisance, alarm, or distress to others.
