Dear Resident, Blythe Crime update from Friday 21st August to Saturday 29th August 2026. Attempted burglary Between 22/08/26 6pm – 23/08/26 6am the glass from a side door glass leading to the kitchen was smashed on Welham Road. Nothing was taken. Vehicle Crime. Officers are no longer allowed to put the manufacturers of vehicles that have been affected by vehicle crime. Naming them may give them a bad reputation. Theft from motor vehicle. 22/08/26 10.00pm Old Dickens Heath Road. Two offenders on a motorcycle have stolen a rear aero spoiler, its base plate and mirror caps off a vehicle parked up in a private car park in Dickens Heath. 23/08/26 2.45am Wrens Nest Close. A vehicle was entered and personal items including the dash cams SD card were stolen from Dickens Heath. 23/08/26 3.20am – 4.00am Griffin Lane. A vehicle was entered and personal items were stolen from Dickens Heath.
Good News. 27/08/26. Two youths were pursued and arrested by Police Officers for going equipped to steal, after being challenged by a member of public in an underground car park in Dickens Heath.

Please note. The thefts of Hybrids and 4 x4s are increasing around the West Midlands area. Please fit a steering lock. A tracking device may help locate the vehicle when fitted. Registration plates have been unscrewed or pulled off vehicles around Solihull. Please replace standard Registration plate screws, fixing pads, with anti-tamper screws fixings available from motor factors or online. Please make sure your sheds, garages side gates are locked. Move your wheelie bins inside your property away from any side gate entry. Please don’t leave your property in darkness, leave a light on. Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. If you see a vehicle in your area that you don’t recognise, parked up, please contact Police on 101 or use the West Midlands Police web site to log it. The location of new vehicle deposition sites are of interest to us. OBERVATIONS. If you see any residents leaving their property on an unregistered (no number plate) scrambler moto cross petrol or electric motorbikes, please email me or report it anonymously on Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111 as they are riding through local parks and Solihull Town Centre.
Please make sure your vehicles are locked. Solihull are being hit with theft from unlocked vehicles. For more information on choosing a CCTV supplier please see the following link: www.bsia.co.uk Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders. Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary. Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
