I hope you are all well. Just a couple of things to be aware of.

ROGUE TRADERS

Just be aware there are traders, workman who are turning up on people's doorsteps offering to complete work for them for a some of money. Often can be quite insistent that you need this work done. A few things to remember if this happens to you:

Never agree to work from cold callers at your door.

Never pay up front.

Avoid cash payments on the doorstep.

Never allow a trader to take you to a cash machine.

Always get three quotes from reputable companies.

Check identification and verify credentials independently.

If you believe you have been targeted by rogue traders, you can contact Leicestershire Trading standards on 0116 305 8000 and report any incidents to the police via 101 or 999 in an emergency.

PERSONAL SAFETY

Unfortunately some people have been targeting people on the street or in the park and trying to take their belongings. Remember these few points:

Ensure your valuables are not on display. Including jewellery. Make sure this is hidden from view.

Know your surroundings. Could you identify where you are to the police?? the more information the police have the quicker you can be located and potentially locate those involved.

Get yourself somewhere safe, in view of people. Where it is in a shop, library, place of worship.

This is not meant to alarm you, this is just to ensure you are vigilant and to keep yourselves safe from harm.
