The town centre beat manager August update

It’s been a very busy summer for our neighbourhood officers, attending events across the area and responding to emergency calls alongside response colleagues. Here’s some of the other things our town centre beat managers have been doing in the last month:

Assisting partner agencies with the closure of five shops selling illegal goods in the town centre. A day after these closures, a new shop was being set up where police visited and £5,000 worth of illegal cigarettes were seized.

Dedicated patrols of Town Centre, St Georges Park, Regent Road, and King Street. Four stop searches were conducted with one positive result for theft from shops- goods were retrieved and returned to store.

One woman was remanded to prison for persistent ASB within the town centre.

Arrest of a man who has breached his CBO multiple times being in the town centre.
