Rise in Van Break-ins Across Milton Keynes

Protect Your Tools, Protect Your Livelihood

Tool theft from vans remains a concern with tradespeople often losing thousands of pounds worth of equipment in a single incident. These thefts can have a significant impact on businesses and livelihoods.

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team are urging tradespeople and van owners to take extra precautions following an increase in these types of offences at hotels and other locations across Milton Keynes.

To reduce the risk:

Remove tools from your van overnight whenever possible.

Fit additional security such as deadlocks, alarms, and steering wheel locks.

Park in well-lit areas or secure locations covered by CCTV.

Mark and register your tools, and keep a record of serial numbers.

Ensure your insurance provides adequate cover for tools and equipment.

Residents are also encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity around parked vehicles.
