Attempt Vehicle Theft- Otford

Good morning Resident

Kent Police is appealing for information following an attempted theft of a vehicle in Greenhill Road, Otford during the early hours of Thursday 27 August 2026.

At approximately 3:30am, multiple male suspects were reported to be attempting to steal a Range Rover Defender / Land Rover from a residential address. The suspects were seen around the vehicle using torches. Due to darkness, no detailed descriptions were obtained.

The offenders are believed to have arrived in another vehicle, however this left the area before any registration or description could be captured. The suspects left prior to police arrival and the targeted vehicle remained at the address.

Were you in the area at the time?

Did you see any suspicious vehicles or people in Greenhill Road, Otford, or surrounding roads?

Do you have CCTV, Ring doorbell, dashcam or other footage from between 03:00hrs and 04:00hrs on 27/08/2026?

Did you notice any vehicles driving unusually or waiting in the area?

Crime Prevention Advice

Store vehicle keys well away from doors and windows.

Use a Faraday pouch to prevent keyless vehicle theft.

Consider steering wheel locks or additional security devices.

Ensure CCTV systems are working and footage is retained.

Report any suspicious activity around vehicles immediately.
