APPEAL FOLLOWING FIRE ON THE CANAL

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information following a small fire near the canal at the rear of the Sewage Works on Power Station Road, Rugeley, at approximately 1:50pm today.

The fire, which involved a cardboard box and some rubbish, was extinguished by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish how the fire started and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident.
