Speed enforcement!

Dear Residents,

Today, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been carrying out speed enforcement activity across the Saddleworth and Lees areas.

Following discussions with residents at a recent police surgery, Turner Street was highlighted as a particular concern, with reports of motorists using the road as a shortcut to avoid nearby traffic calming measures.

In response to these concerns, local officers conducted speed enforcement on Turner Street using the speed “gun”. A number of vehicles were stopped, and appropriate action was taken where offences were identified.

Addressing issues raised by our communities remains a key priority for your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. We will continue to carry out enforcement activity across the area in the coming months, targeting locations identified by residents and working to improve road safety for everyone.
