First Week In Townhill |
||
|
I've had a fantastic first week in Townhill and have really enjoyed getting out into the community and meeting so many local people. I have been fortunate enough to attend a variety of brilliant community engagements that highlight just how much is available for residents to get involved in.
At the Phoenix Centre, I visited both the Minecraft Club and Rhyme Time sessions. These were excellent examples of positive community activities, providing opportunities for young people and families to come together, learn new skills, make friends, and enjoy themselves in a safe and welcoming environment. It was great to see such strong community participation and the positive impact these sessions have on local residents. Another highlight was attending the art club at the local library. It was fantastic to see people coming together through creativity, sharing ideas, learning new skills, and enjoying each other's company.
I was also lucky enough to visit the local food bank, where I had the opportunity to speak with three lovely volunteers. They explained the food bank initiative and the incredible work that takes place behind the scenes to support individuals and families. It was inspiring to hear about their dedication and commitment to helping others within the community.
During my foot patrols around Townhill, I have also had the chance to meet and speak with many members of the community. These conversations have been so valuable, allowing me to introduce myself, listen to local concerns, and hear about the things people enjoy about living in the area. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and it has been a pleasure getting to know the community.
Overall, my first week in Townhill has been extremely positive. The area is supported by a wide range of dedicated volunteers, organisations, and community groups who work hard to make a difference. It has been great to see the strong community spirit firsthand, and I look forward to continuing to build relationships and engage with residents in the weeks and months ahead. Townhill is clearly a community with a lot of pride, support, and opportunities for people of all ages to get involved. | ||
