Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for North Wales Andy Dunbobbin has launched a new monthly podcast that aims to bring policing closer to the residents of North Wales. The podcast entitled ‘North Wales Matters with Andy Dunbobbin’ will focus on the priorities he published in his Police and Crime Plan for the region. Developed following consultation with residents, organisations and partner agencies, the Police and Crime Plan sets out the strategic priorities for policing and community safety across the region. It also outlines the key issues the Commissioner wants the Chief Constable and the local Force to focus on up to 2028. Mr Dunbobbin's priorities include strengthening a local neighbourhood policing presence, supporting victims, communities and businesses, and promoting a fair and effective criminal justice system. The first episode of ‘North Wales Matters with Andy Dunbobbin’ introduces listeners to the Commissioner, exploring his early life before charting his journey into public service and his first election as North Wales PCC in 2021. The episode also reflects on his re-election in 2024 and his continuing role as the public's voice in policing across North Wales. Residents can watch every episode of North Wales Matters with Andy Dunbobbin on YouTube and across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner's social media channels. Listeners can also receive updates and have new episodes delivered directly to their inbox by signing up for the Commissioner's newsletter. Next month’s edition will focus on rural crime. Each monthly episode will focus on a key theme concerning policing, with interviews, conversations and visits to many of the inspiring organisations and individuals who help reduce crime, assist victims and provide support to communities across the region.
