Three arrested following suspected rogue trader incident in Acle |

Residents are reminded to be cautious of anyone offering unsolicited building or repair work at their home, following the arrest of three men last week in connection with a suspected burglary and fraud incident in Acle. Officers received a report on Wednesday 19 August 2026 from a resident living off Old Road who believed they had been targeted by rogue traders. It was reported that the victim was approached by men working in the area and told there were problems with the roof of their property. Work was subsequently carried out and large payments were requested. It is also alleged that during the incident items were taken from inside the property. Following enquiries, officers identified a vehicle linked to the suspects and, on Thursday 20 August, stopped it on the A140 near Newton Flotman. Two men, aged in their 30s, from Diss and Lincolnshire respectively, and a third man aged in his 20s from Leicestershire, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and fraud by false representation. All three were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. They were all later released on bail with conditions, and enquiries are ongoing.
