Weapon Sweep and Community Reassurance Patrols

Officers conducted detailed weapon sweeps at Coppermill Children’s Playground, Walthamstow Wetlands, Whittle Close Estate, and St James Park as part of ongoing efforts to keep our communities safe.

During the sweep, one harmful item was recovered, a long metal pole, which was removed to prevent it from being used to cause harm or anti-social behaviour.

There was also some good news during the operation. An expensive mobile phone was found and handed to police. Following enquiries, including a visit to the bank, officers were able to identify the owner and successfully reunite the phone with its lawful owner.
