Glossop SNT - Community Engagement/Youth Engagement
This evening, Sunday 23rd August, PCSO Buller from Glossop Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) was out and about on the electric powered Police bicycle to patrol and visit our local parks.
Firstly in relation to the Glossop area he called in at Manor Park Glossop - which was busy with families and young people enjoying the sunshine - gardens, ponds and play equipment, followed by the short ride to Howard Park which today was very quiet.
Then off via North Rd and Redgate to the Padfield Play area on Temple St with the chance to engage with a young family there, including some residents, before another short trip to the Brosscroft play area in Brosscroft and with some further engagement with a mum and her 2 boys there..
He then took one more short trip - riding towards and on the Longdendale trail before heading off up to Bankswood Park, Hadfield - which today looked busy, with quite a few young people utilising the Pump Track facility enabling PCSO Buller to have a chat with some of them.
Up and at them as they say and then onto Chapel Lane Park which at the time of the visit was empty followed by a visit to Newshaw Lane Park with only a few youngsters on the swings there this evening.
On the return trip via Dinting Rd a last visit to Manor Park, which still had lots of familsie and children in the lower play area - young people and familsies enjoying the new upper play area and people just enjopying a late summer stroll in the parks grounds.
You can always come and say hello when you see members of our team on patrol - and if you want to tell us in person about any issues you may have, or think of things that we may need to know about - then thats an ideal opportunity to stop us and tell us.
Have you considered using our Community Voice survey, which you can complete on-line - via our community messaging system, Derbyshire Alert: on https://derbyshirealert.co.uk/Content/Pages/Community-Voice .
The surveys are then used by our local Police teams to set their local Policing priorities, and enables us to work with our partners to tackle the issues that matter the most to our communities. One of our main roles as a Safer Neighbourhood team is to engage with all members of our communities - We'll ask - you'll say - and we do.
As always ‘Its good to talk - but equally as importnt to listen'.
