Olton WMnow Update

Good morning everyone,

We hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer before the inevitable six months of rain arrive to either dampen our spirits or act as a welcome relief, depending on how you look at it.

Here is the update for the Olton area.

Crime Update:

A Blue Lexus was stolen from Bourton Road overnight on the 15th of August. The suspects have stolen the vehicle by unknown means while it was locked and secure outside the owner’s home address.

A white Toyota CVT Hybrid was stolen overnight on the 19th of August from Brookvale Road. The suspects have stolen the vehicle by unknown means while it was locked and secure outside the owner’s home address before making off from the location.

There has been reports of an unknown male trying car door handles and stealing small amounts of cash from vehicles he manages to gain access to in the early hours of the morning. The male has been active in Ulverley Crescent and Brookvale Road and CCTV work is underway to locate an offender. 

There has been a burglary of a residential property on Masons Way over night on the 23rd of August whereby an unknown offender broke through the bottom glass panel of the back door and stolen £180 from the victims bedroom while the address was empty. This investigation is still very recent and the early stages of the enquiry are still underway.

Good News:

A prolific offender targeting our local businesses has been tracked down with the help of some excellent CCTV work and has now been charged and is awaiting a court hearing. One less thief operating in our patch.

The team have been serving Community Protection Warnings to some local Anti-Social Behaviour suspects who have been highlighted to us as being a problem to residents. This warning allows us to ban suspects from a designated area and enforce it if they breach it.

A wanted female was dealt with by our team for several Court warrants after she has evaded police for a considerable period of time. Many hours of work were put in to secure the suspect and ensure that she was dealt with correctly when she was located and arrested.

The team have identified a burglary suspect for an offence in our area and have made a number of arrest attempts around Birmingham trying to locate him, the net is getting tighter as we continue to seek to put him behind bars.

Our regular Street Watch groups have been out once again with the support of our PCSO’s offering a high visibility presence and an opportunity to hear local concerns.
