Ward Sergeant's Update |

|
Partnership working is an area where your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) consistently excels. Now, I appreciate that I'm the one making that claim, so there may be a hint of bias creeping in, but I'll leave that for you to decide.
What is partnership working?
Partnership working is when two or more organisations, teams, or individuals work together towards a shared goal, combining their skills, knowledge, resources and responsibilities to achieve better outcomes than they could alone.
In a policing context, partnership working is a key part of neighbourhood policing and problem solving. It often involves agencies such as:
Different teams within the Police Local authorities Housing associations Schools and colleges Youth services Health services Probation services Fire and rescue services Community groups and charities
For example, a walkabout with the Camden Council Community Safety Officer, local ward councillors and your local NPT was conducted this week, to highlight locations experiencing ASB and criminal activity. By doing this, we were able to identify problem areas first-hand, agree joint actions and ensure that the most appropriate agency leads on addressing the issues, resulting in a more coordinated and effective response.
Throughout the walkabout, several residents stopped to speak with us, allowing them to voice their concerns directly and learn more about the joint efforts being made to tackle local issues and enhance the area for the community.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you choose to look at it, my officers and I had to bring one of our conversations with a resident to an abrupt end, when we spotted someone wanted for three theft offences. Whilst it meant cutting short an interesting discussion, it also demonstrated the importance of being out in the community and making the most of every opportunity to keep our neighbourhoods safe.
Here’s what your Safer Neighbourhood Team has been up to this week
The team and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week ahead.
All the best
