MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF WEAPONS OFFENCES

A man has been arrested on suspicion of weapon and assault offences following an incident in Tamworth.

A 48-year-old man, of Tamworth, was detained in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 22 August).

He was arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of a weapon/electrical incapacitation device and using threatening words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.

It follows an incident in the Wilnecote area on Wednesday (20 August).

He remains in police custody at this time. 

Our investigation into the incident is ongoing.
