I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime (theft from or theft of), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Motorcycle Theft Prevention Advice – Tunbridge Wells District
Kent Police is warning motorcycle owners across the Tunbridge Wells District following a recent increase in reported motorcycle thefts and attempted thefts.
Offenders are targeting motorcycles parked on driveways, outside residential addresses, and in public parking areas. Thieves can often remove a motorcycle within minutes, particularly if it is not secured.
We encourage all motorcycle owners to take the following precautions:
Use a high-quality chain and padlock secured to an immovable object where possible. Fit a disc lock and consider using more than one security device. Park in a well-lit area covered by CCTV whenever possible. Install an approved tracking device or immobiliser. Cover your motorcycle with a plain cover to make it less attractive to thieves. Ensure any garages, sheds, or gates are kept locked and secure. Remove keys and never leave them in or near the vehicle.
Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, such as individuals loitering around parked motorcycles, attempting to conceal their identity, or vehicles being used to transport motorcycles in suspicious circumstances.
If you witness a crime in progress, call 999 immediately. For non-emergency information or to report suspicious activity, contact Kent Police online or by calling 101.
Together, we can help prevent motorcycle theft and protect our community.
