Recent Rural East Activity

Ashford CSU continues to tackle road safety concerns across the area. We have been out with speed detection equipment in locations highlighted by residents, engaging with drivers and promoting safer driving.  We also proactive targetting nuisance bikes and taking then off the road.   Please keep reporting any speeding concerns so we can continue to take action where it is needed most.

We are also reminding everyone to stay alert to opportunistic thieves, particularly around rural farms and yards. With seasonal agricultural work in full swing, machinery, tools and equipment may be more exposed and vulnerable to theft. High-visibility patrols of rural areas remain ongoing and we urge to you report any suspicious vehicles or person.

On 15 August, officers arrested a male for stealing alloy wheels from a private driveway. Using ANPR technology and CCTV enquiries, we quickly identified the vehicle involved, traced it to the Faversham area, recovered the stolen items, and arrested the suspect. He has since been charged and awaiting his day in Court..
