⚠️ Illegal E-Bikes Put Everyone at Risk ⚠️

Officers are continuing to identify and deal with illegally modified e-bikes across our communities.

Many high-powered electric bikes being sold online are not legal for use on UK roads, cycle paths or public places. If a bike exceeds legal limits, it may be treated as a motor vehicle.

Riders could face: 

🔹 Seizure of the vehicle
🔹 Penalty points
🔹 Prosecution for driving without insurance
🔹 Prosecution for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence

These bikes can travel at speeds far beyond those expected by pedestrians and other road users, increasing the risk of serious injury.
