Yarmouth shops issued closure orders

“Why don’t you shut them down?”

This is a question often asked when we post about the visits we do alongside Trading Standards and Great Yarmouth Borough Council to shops in the area, searching for illegal tobacco products.

Today, five shops have been issued with immediate closure notices after a series of checks revealed persistent criminality.

Safer Neighbourhood Inspector Andy Tomlinson said: “Tackling issues that affects local residents and the wider community is key aspect of neighbourhood policing, and multi-agency partnership working such as this allows us to take robust action against those persistently breaking the law.”
