Bogus callers |

Good afternoon
We’re reminding everyone to be alert to the risk of being scammed by bogus tradespeople who may be operating in the community.
Many legitimate individuals and companies rely on door-to-door sales to attract new customers, but you are perfectly entitled to ask anyone who turns up at your address unannounced for identification to verify who they are and what their business is.
You should also never feel pressurised into buying and be especially wary of anyone asking for you to pay in advance for the goods and services they are offering or to sign a contract there and then.
Report Fraud is the service to report cyber-crime and fraud, and they provide more detailed advice on how to protect yourself from door-to-door sales and bogus tradespeople fraud on their website: Door to door sales & bogus tradesmen fraud - Report Fraud.
Warmest Wishes
Georgina
