NUGENT TRAILER & GAS CANNISTERS STOLEN FROM PARK

Dear Resident

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a Theft of a NUGENT Trailer and three 47kg orange Gas cannisters from a caravan business Withernsea Road, HOLLYM.

The incident occurred between 3:20am and 5:25am this morning (Wednesday 19 August 2026). The offender(s) approached the front of the property and removed the trailer and placed the three 47kg orange gas cannisters in it before making off.

To secure gas bottles against theft, tampering, and fire risks, police and safety authorities recommend storing cylinders upright in locked, well-ventilated outdoor enclosures.

Prevent criminal access by anchoring cages to fixed structures, restricting site entry points, and using security lighting or forensic property marking.

Physical Security & Storage
Keep propane and larger cylinders outdoors in a dedicated, lockable mesh or metal gas cage.
Chain or lock bottles to a rigid, fixed structure to stop thieves from lifting or tipping them.
Maintain clear perimeters around storage zones free of combustible rubbish, dry leaves, or foliage.
Ensure storage areas have maximum visibility with security lighting or CCTV surveillance.

Crime Prevention & Marking
Mark cylinders with your postcode or use forensic property marking (such as synthetic DNA sprays) to deter scrap metal thieves.
Display clear warning signs indicating that security tracking or forensic marking is in use.

Report any suspicious individuals, vehicles , or attempted thefts near compounds immediately via your local police
