Dear Resident, Officers from Wakefield West NPT hosted the recent PACT (Police & Communities Together) Meeting at the Penny Appeal Campus, Thornes Park. The meeting was well attended by residents from the local area, and a number of issues were raised and discussed, including:
Off-road bikes on Lupset Golf course Parking issues Thornes Moor Road
Discussions were held around each of these issues with the following actions being set for NPT officers:
Extra patrols to be carried out at Lupset Golf course, particularly between the hours of 6pm-7pm when the team are on a late shift.
Passing attention on Thornes Moor Road re parking issues.
Since the last PACT meeting, the team have:
Carried out a speed operation on Thornes Road - this location was raised by residents at a previous PACT meeting.
Carried out proactive operations with the Off-Road Bike Team, targeting nuisance bikes, in particular the eBikes that have been reported to us.
Carried out extra patrols in the Secret Garden with several youths being stopped and searched.
Executed a drugs warrant following community intelligence at a residential property on Manor Road.
