Hello Custom House, We have seen a significant amount of vehicle crime in the area this week. Here is an update on recent street incidents and police activity in our community. Vehicle Crime 14/08/2026 – Edwin Street: A local resident spotted two men dressed in black attempting to steal a motorbike. When police arrived, the two individuals fled on an e-bike. During the pursuit, one of the males fell off the back of the e-bike and was arrested.15/08/2026 – King George Avenue: Number plates were stolen from a vehicle.14/08/2026 – Butchers Road: A car was left unlocked. A scooter was stolen from the boot, and a disabled badge was taken from the dashboard.15/08/2026 – Elbury Drive: A grey Nissan Leaf was stolen. Theft From a Person 15/08/2026 – Hammersley Road: A phone was snatched by a suspect on a bicycle occurred at 5:30 PM in the underpass.Assault 17/08/2026 – Victoria Dock Road: A physical altercation took place outside the Ibis hotel. The individuals involved were known to each other. One person struck the other with beard trimmers, causing a cut to the face. The suspect was promptly arrested.Affray 18/08/2026 – Cundy Road: A victim attended the Stratford Police Station front office to report that a group of unknown masked males approached her vehicle. They made threats toward her and her family using knives and baseball bats.In Other News Drugs Warrant: A drugs warrant was executed at Katie Court on the Keir Hardie Estate. A large quantity of Class A drugs was discovered, and the suspect was arrested.Dangerous Driving (14/08/2026): In the early hours of the morning, officers attempted to stop a stolen silver Lexus at Beckton Roundabout. The vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a pursuit. The suspect vehicle ignored multiple red lights, reached speeds of 90mph in a 50mph zone, and hit 50mph in a 20mph zone while striking several other cars. The pursuit ended on Forty Acre Lane when the vehicle crashed into roadworks. The suspect was arrested. Sexual Assaults (Beckton Alert) There have been two sexual assaults reported near Beckton Park DLR this week. Both incidents occurred around midnight. In both cases, a lone woman was followed and groped. The suspect is described as a slim Asian man in his mid-20s. We are taking these sexual assaults extremely seriously and are currently reviewing local CCTV footage to identify this man and track his movements. We are optimistic that he will be in custody and facing justice in the very near future.
