Hello Beckton, Well, it has certainly not been a boring week. Here is an update on recent incidents and police activity in our community. Assault and Road Rage 13/08/2026 – A1020 (Thames Gateway Bridge): A VW Caddy overtook a driver at speed and slammed on the brakes, causing a minor collision. The occupants of the VW Caddy became extremely aggressive, jumped onto the victim's car bonnet, and threw the victim's phone when they attempted to record the incident.14/08/2026 – Dockyard House: A dispute broke out between a delivery driver and a customer when the customer refused to show identification, and the driver subsequently declined to hand over the goods.18/08/2026 – Matalan: A physical altercation took place between two couples outside the store. Neither party wishes to pursue criminal prosecution.Arson 15/08/2026 – Itchycoo Park: Four youths in possession of lighters were found setting fire to kindling and attempting to set fire to a public park table.Dangerous Driving 14/08/2026 – Beckton Roundabout: In the early hours of the morning, officers attempted to stop a stolen silver Lexus. The vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a police pursuit. The driver ignored multiple red lights, reached speeds of 90mph in a 50mph zone, and hit 50mph in a 20mph zone while striking several other cars. The pursuit ended on Forty Acre Lane when the vehicle crashed into roadworks. The suspect was safely arrested.Vehicle Crime 14/08/2026 – Routh Street: A vehicle headlight was damaged.15/08/2026 – Restart Close: Number plates were stolen from a vehicle.Public Order 14/08/2026 – William Hill (Asda Mall): A woman shouted racial abuse at members of the public. Officers attended quickly and she was arrested.Sexual Assault 13/08/2026 – Truesdale Road: Around midnight, a woman was followed to Truesdale Road, where she was pushed and grabbed over her clothes. The suspect then walked away.15/08/2026 – Beckton Park DLR: Around midnight, a lone woman was followed from the station. The suspect attempted to grab her, but she screamed and kicked out at him, causing him to run off towards Strait Road.Robbery 17/08/2026 – Beckton Corridor: Around 2:00 PM, five youths approached two individuals, demanded their phones and watches, and threatened them with a weapon. Police arrived quickly, but the group had already fled. Enquiries are actively ongoing.We are taking the sexual assaults extremely seriously and scouring CCTV that captures this man or the attacks. I am optimistic that he will be in the cells and facing jail time in the very near future. If anybody has been approached by this man but has not reported it to Police please get in touch. Every location and time gives us more opportunities to apprehend this person.
