Tool Theft:

Did you know that many tool thefts happen when vans are parked at home overnight – often between 2am and 5am?

25,525 tool thefts were reported in the UK police in 2024! equating to around 70 thefts every day.

The estimated value of tools stolen in 2024 was around £40 million.

Thieves know that vans can contain thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment,

making them an attractive target.

Crime prevention advice to consider:

·        Remove high value tools from your van overnight where possible.

·        Park with van doors against a wall or another physical barrier.

·        Consider internal deadlocks or tool safes

·        Keep an up-to-date inventory of your tools including serial numbers, makes and models, purchase receipts, photographs.

·        Report suspicious behaviour immediately.
