Community Alert, Bogus builder scam

Valentines Ward wants to keep you updated on what’s happening around you , and we always will.
We’ve had a report of a bogus builder calling at an elderly resident’s home, claiming there was an infestation and quoting a large sum for work. The resident refused and said they’d call the police, and he left straight away.
This could happen to anyone, so please:
🔹 Always check ID before letting traders in
🔹 Don’t be pressured into paying on the spot
🔹 Get a written quote and a second opinion before agreeing to any work
🔹 Check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours
Valentines SNT will continue carrying out reassurance patrols across the ward.
