Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

Officers from Whalebone and Chadwell Heath Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) held a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) engagement stand today at the Whalebone Community Hub on Chadwell Heath High Road.

Officers engaged with local residents, offering personal safety and crime prevention advice, while providing an opportunity for members of the community to raise any concerns they may have regarding safety within their local area.

The engagement also allowed officers to listen to residents’ experiences, identify locations where people may feel unsafe, and discuss areas where improvements could be made across both wards.

Community engagement plays an important role in helping us understand local concerns and ensuring our patrols and policing activity are focused on the issues that matter most to residents.

We would encourage anyone with concerns about VAWG, personal safety, crime or anti-social behaviour in their area to continue speaking with their local Safer Neighbourhood Team.
