🚔 Untaxed Vehicle Seized & Stolen Vehicle Recovered

Good evening, Resident,

I would like to make you aware that on 17/08/2026, two vehicles were recovered as a result of proactive policing and information provided by the community.

Following reports from local residents regarding an abandoned vehicle that was in poor condition on St James Road, I attended and carried out checks. These confirmed that the vehicle had been untaxed for a prolonged period and was being kept on a public road. The vehicle was subsequently seized and removed.

🚗 Vehicle Compliance Matters

Please ensure your vehicle is Insured, Taxed and has a valid MOT before using it on the road.

If a vehicle has been declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), it must be kept on private land, such as a driveway or garage, and must not be parked or used on a public road. Failure to comply could result in enforcement action, including the vehicle being seized and removed.

Shortly afterwards, a vehicle was reported stolen from Sevenoaks area. PC Owen, PC Costin and other units conducted enquiries in the area and successfully located the vehicle parked at another location. The vehicle has now been recovered and enquiries are ongoing.

Protect Your Vehicle from Theft

Vehicle crime can happen anywhere, but there are simple steps you can take to reduce the risk:

• 🔑 Always lock your vehicle and secure all windows.
• 🛡️ Consider fitting an immobiliser or vehicle tracker.
• 🔒 Use a steering wheel lock or other visible security device.
• 🚘 Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
• 🎒 Remove valuables from view and take them with you if possible.
• 📱 Consider CCTV, doorbell cameras or driveway security lighting at home.
