Witness appeal following assault in Wareham

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage to get in touch following an assault involving two teenage girls in Wareham.

It is reported that the incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 12 August 2026 in the area of St John’s Hill.

A 13-year-old girl sustained an injury to her knee that required medical treatment, as well as bruises to her head.

Police Constable Christopher Windows, of Purbeck police, said: “I understand that a woman intervened during the incident and I am keen to speak to her to take an account of what she saw.

“I would also ask anyone who witnessed the assault or captured any footage of relevance to please get in touch.”
